Co-managed IT for companies with an internal IT team
You already have an IT person, or a small IT team. Co-managed IT does not replace them. When someone on your staff calls, they should reach a person who knows the office. Not a ticket number.
Co-managed IT for companies with an internal IT team
You already have an IT person, or a small IT team. They know your systems, your people, and how the business actually runs. Co-managed IT does not replace them. We step in beside them with help desk capacity, security tools, monitoring, and extra hands for the work a small team cannot cover alone.
When someone on your staff calls, they should reach a person who knows the office. Not a ticket number. That is how we work with your team, too.
Talk with us about co-managed IT
What is co-managed IT?
Co-managed IT is a partnership between your internal IT staff and a managed service provider. Your people keep ownership of the technology and the decisions that go with it. We take on the jobs you hand us: day-to-day monitoring and patching, help desk overflow, cybersecurity, backup, or a project that is too big to run alone. The split is agreed up front and can change as your needs change.
It sits between doing everything in-house and outsourcing IT entirely. You keep the knowledge and control of having your own people, plus the depth of a full IT team behind them.
Who it's for
Co-managed IT is usually a good fit if:
- You have one to three internal IT staff who spend their days putting out fires and never get to the projects leadership is asking for.
- Your IT person is the only one who knows how everything works, and a vacation, sick day, or resignation would leave you exposed.
- You have an IT director or CTO but no bench, and need technicians to carry out the plan.
- You're adding offices, people, or field staff faster than you can hire IT.
- Security has outgrown the team. Endpoint security, email security, patching, and monitoring all need daily attention on top of everything else.
- You handle confidential client records and your IT person needs help with security, access, and backups.
- A big project is coming, such as a server replacement, cloud move, phone system, or new office, and your team cannot take it on while keeping the lights on.
No IT staff at all? Fully managed IT services are probably the better fit.
What we take on
Every partnership is different. Here's a common starting point. We'll adjust it to your team's strengths and write down the final version together.
- Everound typically handles: Network monitoring and alerts; computer patching and software updates; endpoint, email, and network security; dark web monitoring; backup and disaster recovery; help desk overflow (hardware, software, email, new-employee setup); after-hours support; network and server administration (as agreed).
- Your IT team typically keeps: IT strategy and final technology decisions; line-of-business apps your team knows best; relationships with leadership and staff; vendor relationships you want to keep; hands-on tasks your team prefers to own; budget ownership.
- Shared / decided together: Who takes which help desk tickets and how they're handed off; admin access and change approvals; project planning and priorities; documentation of your environment; security incident response steps; hardware and software purchasing.
From our managed IT, cybersecurity, and project pages, pieces you can assign to us include:
- Help desk support
- Network monitoring; network and server administration
- Patching and software updates; hardware and software support
- Backup and disaster recovery; cloud services; VoIP
- After-hours support outside Monday through Friday, 8 to 5
- Network, email, and endpoint security; dark web monitoring
- Cybersecurity risk assessments
- Project work: consulting, installs, cabling, cameras, Wi-Fi design, software implementation
We don't use contractors. Your staff works with our full-time team, people they'll know by name.
How we work alongside your team
- A real conversation. We talk with your IT lead and a decision-maker about what's working, what's not, and where the team needs backup. No obligation.
- Assessment. We review network, servers, devices, security, and backups. A cybersecurity risk assessment is often part of this step.
- Agree on who does what. Together we write down which tasks we own, which your team keeps, and how tickets and escalations get handed off.
- Onboarding. We deploy monitoring, security, and backup tools as agreed, document the environment, and get to know your people.
- Ongoing partnership. You get a dedicated Everound team. The split of work can change as your needs change.
Harrisburg-based, serving Central PA and clients nationwide. We're glad to work alongside internal IT teams near our office and farther out when that is the right fit.

Will Everound replace our IT staff?
No. Co-managed IT supports your internal team. It does not replace it. Your IT staff stay in charge of your systems and decisions. We add capacity, tools, and expertise behind them.
What size IT team is co-managed IT a good fit for?
It works especially well for companies with one to three internal IT staff, or an IT director or CTO without a full team. If you have no IT staff at all, fully managed IT is usually a better fit.
How do you decide what Everound handles and what our team keeps?
Before we start, we write down which tasks we own, which your team keeps, and how tickets and escalations are handed off. That split can change as your needs change.
Can Everound cover after-hours support and our IT person's time off?
Yes. After-hours support is available outside our Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm hours, so your IT person isn't the only one on call. Because we already monitor and document your systems, we can keep things running when your staff are on vacation or out sick.
Do you work with professional offices that handle confidential records?
Yes. We help professional offices protect confidential client records, manage access, and keep backups in good shape, alongside your IT staff when you already have one.
